Most disappointing
out of all the shows that have been announced for the winter season, there are a few that seem like they will be major let-downs. First, there’s Neko no Oniisan, which is about a cat who becomes an anime character. While the concept sounds cute, the execution looks sloppy and uninspired. Then there’s Sword Art Online Alternative: Gun Gale Online, which is simply a cash-grab attempt to capitalize on the popularity of the Sword Art Online franchise. And finally, there’s Yuru Camp△ 2, which looks like it will be more of the same slice-of-life hijinks that made the first season so boring.

Disappointing newcomers

Fate/Extra Last Encore (Type-Moon)
Based on the PS2 game of the same name, Fate/Extra Last Encore tells an alternate retelling of Shirou Emiya’s journey to participate in Holy Grail War that took place 10 years after Fate/stay the night as he joins forces with Kotomine Kirei and Rin Tohsaka to take part in another battle over obtaining The Holy Grail. The adaptation was directed by Tomonori Sudou, who had previously worked on Guilty Crown and Attack on Titan Season 2, with a series composition by Yūichirō Higashide who had worked on Rokka: Braves of Six Flowers as well as Fate/Apocrypha.
